Lawyers and experts meet on Thursday (26/10) for the 1st Eurochambers Intellectual Property Seminar . The objective of the meeting is to discuss intellectual property as a strategic factor for business development. The seminar will be from 8:30 am to 5 pm, in São Paulo.
Roberto Jaguaribe and Jorge Ávile, president Special Data and vice-president of the National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI), were invited to open the event. The Belgian ambassador to Brazil, Johan Ballegeer, will represent European countries together with the CEO of the Benelux Office for Intellectual Property, Edmond Simon.
At the seminar, relevant aspects and perspectives for industrial property in Brazil and Europe will be presented. Furthermore, experts and lawyers debate ways to protect biotechnological and pharmaceutical inventions in Brazil and also ways to protect against acts of unfair competition.

One of the most renowned lawyers in the family area in Brazil, Paulo Lins e Silva, nephew of jurist.
Evandro Lins e Silva, assumes on November 3rd the Presidency of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA), the oldest and most important congregation of orders of lawyers in the world, based in Paris.
The only Brazilian to take command of this entity to date was Arnaldo Medeiros, almost 60 years ago.
Lins e Silva's inauguration will take place during the 50th UIA Congress, held from October 31st to November 3rd in Salvador, Bahia, for which representatives from more than 70 countries have already been confirmed, Jornal do Commercio publishes .
